December is a time to Prepare, Worship and Celebrate Seven Christmas Eve services planned for two campuses The last weekend of November not only is the end of Thanksgiving weekend but also preparation time in the Christian calendar known as Advent.
“Christmas isn’t just about the birth of a baby,” noted Spleth. "In the coming of the Christ child, God gives birth to new hope, peace, joy, love and life." Each week one of the words will be the focus of our attention. Daily email sentence prayers will be offered by Randy beginning Sunday, November 30. To start your day with these one sentence prayers between now and Christmas, click on “Email Subscriptions” at the top left corner of the website. A grief service for those who have lost loved ones will provide time to grieve our losses and facilitate the process of healing. All who are facing this holiday season grieving the loss of a loved one are encouraged to participate in the service on Sunday, December 7, 6:00 p.m., south campus sanctuary. Music always brings joy and celebration to our lives at this time of year. December 13-14 weekend will come alive with our north campus Praise Team and our south campus Chancel Choir, Bells and orchestra providing Christmas performances during the worship services. The ALTARed youth Praise team also will provide youth and parents with their own service of musical praise on December 21, 10:30 a.m. More than2500 Christmas Eve worshipers are expected at seven services. The first north campus worship will begin at 5:30 p.m., with a family service and the reading of a Christmas story by the pastor. Contemporary candlelight communion services are set at the north campus for 7 and 9 p.m. The southcampus Christmas Eve services will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a familyservice, including all children’s choirs and the reading of a story.Traditional candlelight communion worship services will be held in the sanctuary at 7, 9, and 11 p.m. Youth will participate in Christmas Eve worship services rather than having their own service.
