FaithQuest Kids’ Fall
Mission Projects
Compassion4Kids
Children in FaithQuest will be collecting non-perishable food items for Compassion4Kids through October 12.
Compassion for Kids, Inc. is a nonprofit charitable organization that empowers committed volunteers to share compassion and resources with children in need. Outreach programs focus on the education, social & cultural development, and the health & general welfare of impoverished children.
Operation Christmas Child
Again this year children in FaithQuest will be participating in Operation Christmas Child, October 18 through mid November. Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoeboxes have been packed, shipped and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on mission project.
Children should bring items to FaithQuest at either the north or south campus where there will be collection bins in the education area.
Thanks to Volunteers
Excitement is in the air at Geist Christian Church! As summer has turned to fall, Geist has moved to being one church in two locations. I am overjoyed to see our church family and new visiting family’s worship together in two locations. Over the course of four services the weekend of September 20 and 21, the nursery, Jr. FaithQuest, and FaithQuest classrooms had 250+ children. I am so excited to be serving this many children. We welcomed many new friends in our classes.
My heartfelt thank you is extended to all the individuals who have graciously agreed to serve in our children’s programs. Your commitment and energy to all the children ages birth through 5th grade are greatly appreciated.
The nursery, Jr. FaithQuest, and FaithQuest programs welcome fresh new faces to join our groups! There are many ways to get involved, please seek out

“Carpe diem” is a Latin phrase for “seize the day.” This was my cross-country’s team motto my senior year of high school. I did not understand why my coach chose this theme until later when I read Isaiah 22:13 which says, “But see there is joy and revelry, slaughtering of cattle and killing of sheep, eating of meat and drinking of wine!”
There is hope in everything, and when we face difficulties, we should turn to God. Trust God and his promises to us. Considering the uncertainties of the future, we should all enjoy life as God’s gift.
As we are all excited to see what each new weekend will bring, I say to you, “Carpe diem.”
