VBS Children give generously
More than 65 adult and youth volunteers guided 190 children through Vacation Bible School this past June, discovering the importance of being all they can be for Jesus.
They also experienced daily lessons in helping others as they donated items and money for orphanages in Mexico and Lawrence Township children in need.2008 VBS Mission Outreach collections for Compassion 4 Kids (C4K) included 192 pairs pairs of flip flops for needy children, living in orphanages and small villages in Mexico. They also provided 87 complete kits of school supplies were organized for children in Lawrence Township.
Daily contributions included136 complete dental kits with a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss that will go to primary schools in Mexico in support of C4K’s “Water 4 Healthy Kids” project. “Change 4 Kids $$” will also receive approximately $2,200 collected by VBS children to help pay for vaccines for children in orphanages.
More than 622 food items also were collected. These items will help stock The Caring Center which serves Lawrence Township families in need. A special thanks goes to parents and children for these donations and for helping our VBS kids experience the gift of giving.
