Q: When is worship and what does it look like?
A: At the North/Fishers campus, worship is casual with mostly contemporary music, on-screen visuals and sermon enhancement. Saturdays at 5:30 pm and Sundays at 10:00 am. At the South/Indianapolis campus, worship is a traditional style, with choir and organ, hymn singing and sermon. Sundays at 9:00 and 10:30 am.
The same message is offered in all four services, and communion is served weekly.
In addition the ALTARed Youth Worship is held Sundays at 10:30 am (South/Indianapolis). This service is created by and for students 6th through 12th grades. A North Campus/Fishers option, ALTARed Youth Worship is held weekly, 10 am in Room 122.
Q: Is there Children's Ministry happening while I am in the adult service? What do children do?
A: Yes! Infant and toddler care is available at every worship service with a pager system in place for parents' comfort and convenience.
First Look and
252 Basics are the strategies we use for preschool and elementary students,
offered during all worship hours. At 10:30 am, children 5 years and older begin
the hour in worship and are dismissed to FaithQuest following their Children's
Moment with the minister. At 5:30 pm, 9:00 am, and 10:00am, ALL children begin
their hour directly in the classrooms.
Q: What should I wear?
A: The focus is not on what you wear; we want you to be comfortable and focused on worship. If you look around, the North Campus casual worshippers are anywhere from jeans to business casual. At the South Campus traditional services, you'll see business casual to 'Sunday best'. At ALTARed Youth Worship - it's up to you!
Q: What kind of church are you?
A: Geist Christian Church is a part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Discover the Disciples by going here. As a moderate, mainstream church founded on American soil, worshippers from a variety of church backgrounds will find something familar in worship with us. We focus on our call to be the Body of Christ, to worship and serve God together. We choose our own minister, own our own buildings and assets, and determine our own programs and ministries.
Q: Does worship accommodate the hearing impaired?
A: Assisted listening devices are available at all worship services. You'll find them on the narthex table (outside the sanctuary doors) at the South Campus, and at the media console at the rear of the North Campus worship space.
Q: How do we join Geist Christian Church?
A: Becoming a member at Geist Christian Church means that you join a dynamic community of believers, striving each day to faithfully follow Christ together. If you have been attending Geist Christian Church and want to know what it means to make this your church home, please join us for an upcoming membership inquiry class or contact the church office, 842-3594.
